This past week I was able to enjoy three wonderful days in New York City with my sister in law! We were lucky enough to take in not one… but two amazing shows, they were so funny and had a great message. We walked… and walked… and walked, but we were never tired! It was so cool to take in the sites, but not the typical tourist sites, since this was not my first trip to NYC, I sort of knew what to expect. This trip we walked the high line. It’s a place where the old above ground building railway used to run. They have made it into a walking bridge with several story boards and sites to see! The history there was so interesting. We also went to Chelsea Market and spoke with the people in the booths, they taught us a little more about the area. OH! We also got to see Central Park and Lincoln Square. We shopped and we ate. I had some of the best pizza. We got to enjoy this trip with no plans going in and just enjoyed being spontaneous.
My sister in law and I parted ways on Thursday morning, she went up state to Canada to visit a friend while I explored NYC on my own. I got up super early and went to visit the Today show and got to see the anchors that I watch every morning on the TV. I was able to say hi to Al Roker, which admittedly is my favorite weather man and I hadn’t got to meet him last time I visited. It was the Today Show’s 25th anniversary and the drizzle didn’t stop the crowd from showing up. It was a great start to my morning! After the show, I did a little shopping for me and my family. I stopped at the NBC shop, the Disney Store, M&M and Hershey before ending my journey at the gift shop next to my hotel! Then, it was time to grab a car and head back to the airport to return home to my family in Indiana.
